Operating your Supertub
See the following sections for more details on how to operate your Supertub and how to navigate the UI.

Via the Permafrost™ chiller V1 display

1. Temperature display
Displays the current temperature of the water in Celsius or Fahrenheit. To switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit, press the "Settings" icon on the bottom left of the main display interface, and toggle the °C or °F icon at the top right of the settings interface.

2. Temperature slider
Set your desired water temperature by tapping the and icons, or dragging the temperature slider to the right or left.

3. Switch icon
Tap to turn on or switch off the water flow between the chiller and the Supertub.

To turn on water flow between the chiller and the Supertub, you will need to both turn on the power switch at the back of the chiller, and tap the Switch icon.

It is possible to set your chiller to auto-power mode, which turns on water flow once the power switch at the back of the chiller is switched on. To turn on auto-power mode, press the "Settings" icon on the bottom left of the main display interface, and toggle the “Power on” icon at the top left of the settings interface.

However, we do not recommend turning on auto-power mode, as that increases the likelihood of user errors such as accidentally turning on the water flow when there is not enough water in the chiller or when the water valves are closed, which may cause damage to the chiller.

4. Fault warning icon
Appears if there is an issue with your Permafrost™ chiller V1. If the Fault Warning icon appears, tap it to view more information. The error message should include steps to troubleshoot the issue.

If you are unable to fix the issue on your own, contact Customer Support (support@hydragun.com) for help.

5. Water flow icon
Displays the rate of water flow between the chiller and the Supertub. If the water flow rate falls below 13 liters per minute, you may need to change the water filter. Refer to “Caring for your Supertub” below for instructions on how to do this.

6. Room temperature icon
Displays the ambient air temperature.

7. Cooling, heating, and defrosting icons
Display the mode the chiller is currently operating in.

Cooling mode: When the set temperature is lower than the current water temperature. Your Permafrost™ chiller V1 will usually be operating in this mode.

Heating mode: When the set temperature is higher than the current water temperature.

Defrosting mode: When the set temperature is higher than the current water temperature, and ambient temperature is lower than 50°F (10°C).

8. Ozone icon
Lights up (icon in color) when the ozone generator is in operation, and turns off (icon in greyscale) when the ozone generator is not in operation.

The ozone generator produces ozone in the water to break down pollutants, microbes, and mold.

It generates ozone in cycles of your desired duration (we recommend around 3 minutes), followed by 15 minutes of rest.

To set your desired ozone cycle duration, press the "Settings" icon on the bottom left of the main display interface.

Then drag the "Ozone time" slider to your desired duration, from 0 to 5 minutes.

9. Wi-Fi icon
Tap to turn Wi-Fi on and off, to connect your Permafrost™ chiller V1 to the Tuya Smart app. Refer to “Via the Tuya Smart app” below for instructions on how to use the Tuya Smart app to control the chiller remotely.

10. Locking icon
Long press to lock or unlock the display screen.

To set your desired screen lock duration, press the “Settings” icon on the bottom left of the main display interface.

Then drag the “Screen lock” slider to your desired duration, from 0 to 5 minutes.

The ozone generator produces ozone in the water to break down pollutants, microbes, and mold. It generates ozone in cycles of your desired duration, followed by 15 minutes of rest. (We recommend cycles of 3 minutes, which is the default setting.)

To set your desired ozone cycle duration, drag the "Ozone time" slider to your desired duration, from 0 to 5 minutes.

4. Water switch and water flow indicators
Water Switch: The two water switches detect the rate of water flow between the Supertub and the chiller both switches should be on whenever the chiller is in operation.

Water Flow: Displays the current rate of water flow between the Supertub and the chiller. If the water flow rate is less than 13L/min, you may need to change the water filter or clean the water strainer. Refer to “Caring for your Supertub” below for instructions on how to do this.

5. Auto-power mode icon
To turn on water flow between the chiller and the Supertub, you need to turn on the power switch at the back of the chiller, as well as tap the “Switch” icon on the bottom right of the app display interface.

It is possible to set your chiller to auto-power mode, which turns on water flow once the power switch at the back of the chiller is switched on, by toggling on the “Power” icon on the left of the app display interface.

However, we do not recommend turning on auto-power mode, as that increases the likelihood of user errors such as accidentally turning on the water flow when there is not enough water in the chiller or when the water valves are closed, which may cause damage to the chiller.

6. Touch screen sound icon
Tap to turn touch screen sounds on or off.

7. Temperature units icon

Tips for beginners
1. Start slow
• We recommend starting at a higher temperature (e.g. 50°F (10°C)), and gradually lowering the temperature over several sessions as your body gets used to the cold.

• The water should feel uncomfortably but not painfully cold in each session. We also recommend starting with less frequent sessions (e.g. 2-4 times a week) and gradually increasing them as you become comfortable with the routine.

• Finally, we recommend starting with shorter sessions (e.g. 1-2 minutes) and increasing to up to 5 minutes as you become comfortable.

While using the Supertub, pay attention to how your body is responding to each session, and make sure you are using the right temperature settings and session durations for you. If you feel any unexpected pain or discomfort during a session, stop use immediately and consult your physician.

2. Breathe
Focus on taking slow, deep breaths. Your body might react to the cold with short, shallow breaths, so it’s important to slow down and focus on your breathing.

3. Warm back up naturally
After you exit the Supertub, dry off with a towel and let your body warm back up naturally to experience the full benefits of cold water immersion therapy.

When to use your Supertub
Use your Supertub for a maximum of one time daily to:
• Boost physical recovery after high-intensity exercise
• Increase energy and focus for many hours after use
• Build mental fortitude and grit
• Enhance your mood
• Speed up metabolism
